Artist Biography

Katharine Dufault is a British-born artist, curator and educator. She earned

her degree in painting and literature from Columbia University, NY,

graduating with honors, after studying visual arts, graphic design, and

photography at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England.

Dufault works with oils, watercolor, and printmaking. She describes painting

as “a meditation and a kind of alchemy, transforming feelings and

memories into tangible experiences for others.” Her work grows from a

deep love of nature, its restorative power, and its increasing fragility within

contemporary life. Drawing daily inspiration from her rural life in the

Berkshires, earlier years in Westchester, and childhood in the

Cambridgeshire countryside, she creates landscapes that reflect both a

close observation of place and an emotional connection to the natural

world.

Dufault has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally, and

her work is included in numerous corporate and private collections. Beyond

her own artistic practice, she has led workshops and taught art classes,

and is currently an art educator at Berkshire Waldorf High School in

Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

Dufault has curated more than a dozen exhibitions for galleries, several of

which received reviews in the New York Times. She has also advised

nonprofit gallery boards, participated in visual arts panels, and served as a

juror for various awards. In September 2023, she joined the board of Millay

Arts in Austerlitz, New York.

Dufault lives and works in southern Berkshire County, Massachusetts.
